CHRYSLER AND FIAT YET TO BECOME ONE

Following the major speculation among everyone as to the coming together or rather merging of two giant car makers, namely Chrysler and Fiat, now comes the report that they are not yet amalgamating. The reputed CEO of Fiat S.p.A. and Chrysler Group LLC, Sergio Marchionne stated it not long ago to reporters. But it is perhaps too soon as to guess what is going on in that mind of his.

For once, he may as well be looking at taking some precautions. This is still not a bad idea at all, considering the poor condition of Chrysler today. Fiat as of now owns a good 20% stake in Chrysler, once Chrysler goes public; Sergio is looking at increasing this stakes to up to as much as fifty percent. For once, the willingness as shown from the side of the current CEO in refurbishing the state of Chrysler to its former glory is definitely laudable. In the mean while, the recent impressive performance of 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee means there is indeed a good chance of Chrysler coming back from the woods and onto the main road again, in the reckoning. Keeping the workings of Fiat and Chrysler as separate would be a good idea.

For once, this would help the two different brands to deal with their own different base of customers separately giving better focus. It has again not been long after, since the federal government bailed out Chrysler in 2009. People were quite furious then. Since now the company is very slowly but surely recovering, it would be too much of a rush for the merger to take place. It may just end up getting the companies negative PR from the ever hungry media.
